Stillwater Trails

Stillwater has many wonderful trails throughout the City.  Our trail map shows the routes of our current trail system,  Our trails can range from wood chipped nature trails to bituminous trails providing a variety of activity for the community.

Washington County and Lakeview Hospital has a "Step It Out for Health" program which offers residents and visitors of the St. Croix Valley opportunities for physical activity in the Stillwater area.  You can view and print the walking map or visit the Washington County website and view their maps.

BROWN'S CREEK NATURE PRESERVE SKI TRAIL

The City of Stillwater and the Stillwater Cross Country Ski Association have been working together to provide some spectacular cross country ski trails in the Brown's Creek Nature Preserve Area located on the corner of McKusick Road and Neal Avenue.  These trails are a multiuse trail open to hikers and cross country skiers.  Please be considerate when hiking and walk along the side of the trail so as not to distrupt the groomed trail, thank you.  The trails are groomed about every other day depending on snow amounts and conditions.  Trail Map

ADOPT-A-TRAIL PROGRAM

Do you like the outdoors?  Are you looking for a way to get involved in the community?  Participating in the Adopt-a-Trail Program is a way to give back to the places you love.  Individuals, businesses or families can breathe in the fresh air while helping to make sure local trails are inviting and safe.  Your love for the environment will make a positive impact in the community and be rewarding at the same time.

We encourage families, scout troops, youth groups, schools, special interest groups, businesses and individuals to get involved.  Many of our trails are waiting to be adopted by you or your group.  Volunteers can help keep the trails free of unsightly litter, monitor conditions, and perform routine maintenance and other projects.

Adopt-a-Trail Program is a fun, educational volunteer program designed to give the public an opportunity to be involved in preserving and improving the quality of our trails.  Your volunteer efforts on our trails increases public awareness of the importance of conserving and protecting our natural resources, generated pride in our park system and demonstrates your commitment to your community.

You or your group can adopt a trail or a portion of a trail by providing a variety of services at least 4 times a year over a two-year period. If you don't have the time to commit to a long-term adoption, the program also encourages one time clean-up projects, seasonal weeding or raking and often sponsors special projects such as planting and trail clean up.  Contact the Parks Department at 651-430-8837 to adopt a trail.  Your efforts will be appreciated.
